1) My mom and I have the same middle name.
2) I was born premature on my daddy’s birthday.
3) Said date is extremely popular in my family as Daddy and I share said birthday with at least 2 other cousins with a 3rd cousin being born the day before this date.
4) I can’t stand iced tea. Yes, I know I’m a southern girl, but I just can’t do it. I keep tasting it every now and then to see if my taste-buds have changed, but so far, no go.
5) My first pet was a yellow tabby cat we named Peanut.
6) After a horrendous hives outbreak following some cashew consumption in 2002, I’ve decided I’m allergic to nuts. The hives were so miserable that I’d rather never eat another nut than have to live through that again.
7) I’d love to go back to college and get a degree in English.
8) I’d love to go back to college period. If it would pay my bills, I’d so be a career student.
9) As it is, I’ll be paying off student loans until I die.
10) I was homeschooled from the 3rd grade until I went to college.
11) This was before homeschooling was so popular, and my family endured a lot of ostracism because we were homeschooled.
12) I’m proud my parents made the choice they did regarding our education. I know I’ve received a lot of benefits from their dedication.
13) My siblings and I once put a bunch of snowballs in our deep freeze during a rare snowstorm one winter.
14) We got them out for my sister’s birthday party in August and had a snowball fight with her friends.
15) My brother and I are only 10 months apart.
16) He was a surprise.
17) People always asked our ages during that 2 month period we were the same age, and then asked, “are you twins?”
18) My daddy loved putting little airplane kits in our stockings for Christmas.
19) Some of my favorite memories are of putting these together with him and then going outside to fly them.
20) I usually have to force myself to make small talk. It just doesn’t come easily for me.
21) I’m addicted to lotions and body creams. I currently have 10-15 different scents on my dresser or in my bathroom.
22) Despite this addiction, I’m actually quite picky about the scents that I buy.
23) Whenever someone I know is going out of the country, I give them $20 and instructions to buy me something that makes them think of me.
24) So far, I’ve gotten wonderful items from Belgium, Italy, Ukraine, Russia, Brazil, and Australia.
25) The only other countries I’ve been to so far are Mexico and Canada.
26) When we were growing up, my brother and some friends and I caught an armadillo.
27) Our friend’s mother made us let it go because she was afraid it would give us leprosy.
28) My favorite ice cream is Bunelos by Blue Bell.
29) My husband and I were married 12 years before our daughter was born.
30) She was premature and weighed 2 pounds 11 ounces when she was born.
31) She spent 5 1/2 weeks in the NICU, and went home earlier than we all expected.
32) She didn’t have any complications common to premature infants.
33) God blessed us with her wonderful progress.
34) We want to have another baby at some point.
35) I’m nervous about having another preemie and not having a good outcome.
36) I’m struggling with giving this worry to God, especially because it’s not going to prevent me from having another child if God blesses us with one.
37) I love being a mother.
38) I enjoy making bead jewelry.
39) I seldom have time to spend induging this hobby.
40) I’d love to learn to do stained glass someday.
41) I’ve actually found a place that offers classes here in town.
42) One day, I plan to actually attend.
43) I speak enough Spanish to have some basic conversations.
44) I understand more than I speak and generally can get the basic gist of a conversation but miss the fine details.
45) I keep meaning to commit to learning more, but haven’t so far.
46) I’d be so much more effective as a bilingual social worker.
47) I LOVE to read.
48) So does my husband.
49) That fact is blatantly apparent if you come to our house.
50) We have more books than we have of anything else.
51) My husband works in a bookstore.
52) I try not to visit him at work.
53) It’s too dangerous.
54) I see too many books that I want to bring home.
55) I can completely relate to the Harry Bemis character in the Twilight Zone episose, Time Enough at Last.
56) I am one of those people who SO need their sleep.
57) I can go a night or two with not much sleep, but I get pretty worthless after that.
58) It’s a miracle that I survived M’s newborn stage.
59) I’ve never been so desperate in my life.
60) As much as I need my sleep, I have a terrible habit of staying up late when I’m stressed.
61) My warped brain thinks that if I don’t go to sleep, tomorrow (and its accompanying stressors) won’t arrive.
62) You’d think someone with a graduate degree wouldn’t give in to empty denial/coping techiniques like that.
63) One day I’ll learn my lesson…..I hope.

Summer
I love to read and I like making bead jewelry too. And I don’t know how any woman ever survives having two kids 10 months apart. I think that would be more difficult than having twins, with the pregnancy so soon after delivery and all.
