Mamaw’s Spaghetti and Meatballs

1 pound ground beef

1 can tomato sauce

1 can of water

1 package of McCormick Spaghetti Sauce Mix

1 package of spaghetti

1/2 cup of wine

Make meatballs from the ground beef and brown in a skillet.  Pour off grease and set meatballs aside.  Mix tomato sauce, 1 can of water, and spaghetti sauce mix.  Add in meatballs and bring to a boil.  Add in wine.  Lower heat and simmer about 1 hour.  Add cooked spaghetti and heat for a few minutes more.  Enjoy!

I also often add in some mushrooms.  Usually, I triple the recipe and will divide it into four batches of meatballs and sauce.  I freeze three of them for easy, weeknight dinners.  I’ll just pull one out of the freezer into the fridge the night before.  When I get home from work, all I have to do is cook the spaghetti noodles, throw in the meatballs and sauce to heat, and get a salad or other veggies together.

Here’s a link to The Bean enjoying this recipe.  It’s one of her favorites.  Thanks, Mamaw for sharing your recipe!
