Since the 30 degree weather with an even colder wind chill kept us from going to the zoo last month as planned when Gran and Paw were visiting, we finally got our zoo trip in today.  The weather was perfect.  The temperature was in the 70s with low humidity and beautiful sunshine!  It was marvelous!

The giraffes were enjoying a little snack when we stopped by.   giraffedscf3693.jpg

elephantdscf3699.jpg    We got to see the baby elephant, Mac, who was born this past October, playing in some water.

Even though it wasn’t hot, the zebras spent all their time standing in the shade.  zebrasdscf3714.jpg

Because M SO enjoyed the sea lions the last time she saw them i-year-sealionsdscf1557.jpg, we made a point of catching their show while we were there.  They’re still a hit as you can see!

goats-1-dscf3718.jpg    goats-2-dscf3719.jpg   M was a little stand-offish at the petting zoo.  After tapping a goat with her toe, she finally got comfortable enough to do some “drive-by petting.”  She’d cruise by a goat and take a quick swipe with her hand without even pausing.  It was too funny.

All in all, we had a great time!
