Beanish and Other Languages I’m Learning

Just a place for my ramblings as I learn about being a mother and loving my daughter.

Party Favor Fun! July 13, 2008

The Bean came home with a bubble blowing contraption as her party favor from the birthday party.

My O My!  It is a huge hit!

See for yourself.

Swinging And Splashing May 26, 2008

Since T and I both had the day off, we headed over to the park this morning to enjoy some time with The Bean.  She had a blast.  See for yourself.

Okay, I had to include this one.  I can’t help but hear “a boot to the head” over and over in my brain.  Anyone know where that’s from?

Into the rabbit hole.

And she’s off!

Would you believe that after all that, she STILL didn’t take a nap this afternoon.  I’ve about decided that naps at home are pretty much a thing of the past.  She did have a blast though!

Sweet Bean May 5, 2008

Aunt Betty has been making some of these adorable little dresses for all of her granddaughters (our cousins) and was so sweet to make one for The Bean as well!  It arrived in the mail last week.  So I snapped a few photos of The Bean wearing her beautiful new dress to send to Aunt Betty.  Of course, I had to share them with you too!

Here’s her “I’m trying to avoid the Momparazzi” pose.

If you’re interested in a gorgeous dress like this for your little one. You can go to my aunt’s website, Grandma’s Little Angels, to get in touch with her.

Ice Cream Bean April 9, 2008

Having signed The Bean up for numerous birthday clubs, we’ve been getting a slew of emails good for free birthday treats.  The other day, we stopped off at Baskin Robbins so she could enjoy her free, birthday ice cream cone.  It was the first time she’s had an official ice cream cone, so of course, I took the camera to document the experience for posterity.

What A Cute CowBean March 11, 2008

Here’s M in her western wear for this year’s Go Texan Day photos.  Click here to see last year’s photos.

I have no idea where she learned this, but whenever she puts on her cowgirl hat, M starts asking for a pony.  The funny thing is, while she’s wearing the hat is the ONLY time she asks for a pony.

It’s All In How You Look At It March 7, 2008

We live in an apartment.  We’re hoping that we will soon be able to move to a house so that M has a yard to play in.  It will also be nice not to have to listen to the upstairs neighbor stomp across the floor at 5am and have a kitchen that has more than 2 feet of counter space.

While we’re mostly comfortable where we live, I have definitely been itching to move.  Today, however, M made me realize that it’s all in how you look at it.

As we pulled into the complex and waited for the parking lot gate to open, M said, “Our house!”

“Yes, this is our home,” I answered.

“It’s a castle,” she breathed.

All I could do was smile.

A Beautiful Day February 17, 2008

Today was my day to be Manager on Duty at work which is a responsibility all department managers share on a rotating basis.  Luckily, there are enough of us that it only amounts to one day every 8 weeks or so.  However, it does mean a precious day away from T and M.

Last night’s storms blew through and left us with some amazing sunshine today, so T took M to the park for some playtime.  Since I wasn’t able to enjoy the time with them, T was sweet enough to take some photos of the fun they had.

Here are a few of my favorites.

What’s That?

A Study Of The Bean February 10, 2008

Looking at Corey’s great photos of Sugar over at Living and Loving Every Minute of It made me realize that I’ve slacked off on taking photos of M.  So this afternoon’s playtime doubled as a photo shoot.  Here are a few of my favorites from the bunch.

Enjoy!

I often greet her with a “Hi, Gorgeous!” when I see her first thing in the mornings.  This afternoon, it was her greeting to me!

Look at that gorgeous hair.

Don’t worry: she wasn’t poking her eye out.

This one was a happy accident, and I LOVE it!

I think that this one is my favorite.

M is absolutely wonderful, and it is amazing to be her mother.  It’s hard to believe that she’s nearly 3.  She is definitely a little girl now instead of a baby or even a toddler.

What a blessing!
