Beanish and Other Languages I’m Learning

Just a place for my ramblings as I learn about being a mother and loving my daughter.

I give you the Friday Feast

Appetizer
What sound, other than the normal ringing, would you like your telephone to make?

That’s a hard one because I’d love to have M’s voice calling me instead of a ring, but then I’d have her voice associated with annoying telemarketers and such, which wouldn’t be good.  So I guess I’ll say a recording of Christy Nockels Grace Flows Down.  Anything that reminds me of God’s grace, especially when I might have to deal with a telemarketer, is a good thing.

Soup
Describe your usual disposition in meteorological terms (partly cloudy, sunny, stormy, etc.).

Usually, pretty temerate.  Not to hot.  Not too cold.  The kind of days that are really nice out, but you don’t really notice the weather, although I do have my cloudy days.

Salad
What specific subject do you feel you know better than any other subjects?

What would you like to know about nursing homes and skilled nursing rehab?  MDSs, care plans and supporting documentation for such…I’m your girl.  Need to give a resistant Alzheimers patient a bath without getting decked?  I’ve got some suggestions!  I’m also pretty knowledgeable about Medicare skilled nursing benefits and PPS (prospective payment system) as well as Texas nursing home Medicaid benefits.

Main Course
Imagine you were given the ability to remember everything you read for one entire day. Which books/magazines/newspapers would you choose to read?

My Bible, any number of devotional books (particularly those by Richard Foster and Beth Moore), all of the recipies I always forget about cooking,  and my clinical practice books.  It’s a long list, I know, but I read really, REALLY fast.

Dessert
If a popular candy maker contacted you to create their next confection, what would it be like and what would you name it?

Chocolate, mint, and probably marshmellows.  I think I’d call them “Pillow Mints.”
