Beanish and Other Languages I’m Learning

Just a place for my ramblings as I learn about being a mother and loving my daughter.

Bouncy Bean July 13, 2008

Yesterday afternoon, The Bean and I headed out for a birthday party for some of her friends.  It was in one of those indoor bouncing playgrounds.

The lighting in there was not very conducive to photos, so there weren’t very many too choose from.  But here’s a few of The Bean enjoying herself at the party.

Yes, it really was that tall, and she made it all the way up on her own on the first try!

She slid down on her stomach instead of sitting for the ride down.

She REALLY had fun bouncing!

As always, she enjoyed the balloon she got to take home.

A Weekend Re-cap…You Know, Before the Weekend is Actually Capped Off March 25, 2007

Whew!  So much for “meaningful” blogs posts this weekend.  It’s been a busy one, but we’ve had fun.

T and I enjoyed our date night on Friday.  We went to dinner at El Gallo without having to wrangle M for the entire time and were actually able to talk about adult things…you know, like work and the future.  After dinner, we went to Old Navy and bought a dress for M.  I know; it’s a sad, sad thing to shop for your child on your date.  But hey, at least we didn’t go to the grocery store.  Then we had some ice cream at Baskin Robbins and sat there for a while and amazingly, talked some more!  Imagine that!  It was nice.

Saturday, M and I went over to see some friends for a little playtime.  Then we ran to Katy Mills Mall for about an hour.  I found the dress we really liked at Old Navy the night before but couldn’t find in her size, so it came home with us.  Then we headed to meet our friends at Chick-fil-a for a yummy lunch.  (Did you know, they have these wonderful table covers they give you that stick to the table to use with your toddler.  I really wanted to ask for some extra to take with me, but I didn’t.)  We headed home after that for M’s naptime and got stuck in traffic since part of I-10 was closed due to all the contruction that has been going on for…you know…forever it seems.

After M went down for her nap, I started the meat sauce portion of a double batch of lasagna.  I was able to get the cheese mixture together too before she woke up.  Then we tried up a bunch of her new summer clothes and had a mini-fashion show.  Before we knew it, it was suppertime, and shortly after that, T came home from work.  I finished putting the lasagnas together while T looked after M and popped in and out of the kitchen to help when he could.  Currently, I have a lasagna in the fridge that I’ll cook for supper tonight and 3 more in the freezer for eating at a later date.  That’s a good feeling.

Sunday, we headed to the Japanese Gardens at Hermann Park to have some pictures taken.  We spent an hour with the photographer, Christa Johnson.  We did some family shots, but most of the photos were of M for her soon to arrive 2nd birthday.  I think we got some great shots, and M had a blast looking at everything.  She didn’t even seem to mind when she fell down and skinned her knees, but then she’s never too dramatic about that kind of thing.  We should be able to see the pictures in a week or so.  I can’t wait.

We stopped off at the 59 Diner for lunch before heading home where T and M both promptly collapsed for a nap.  I decided to stay up and take advantage of the chance to have some alone quiet time before M woke up.  We’ll proably call Mamaw and Papaw on the webcam in a little bit to see if they want to visit for a bit.

Again, whew!  But we’ve had fun!  What did you do this weekend?
